Admissions - ESL Programs
Beginning,
intermediate, and advanced English learners are welcome. There are no TOEFL requirements. Admission is based on the availability of classes at the
appropriate level for the student at the time of application. Please apply at least 30 days before you wish
to enroll.

Admissions - Science Day Camp Science day camp is designed for students who have completed 4th, 5th or 6th grades. Class size is strictly limited to 12 students. Preference will be given to gifted, talented, or highly motivated learners. International students are welcome. |

- ESL Summer Programs Please email us at info@OregonLanguageCenter.com with your name, address, phone number, age, and when you would like to attend. Also, please write a one paragraph essay including an estimate of your English level (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and your previous English experience (classes, travel, etc.). If there is space available, we will send you an invitation by email. |

If the child is an international student, please estimate his/her ability to understand English. If there is space available, we will notify you by email. |

Payment Payment may be made by cash or check. Payment is due by the first day of class. |
| Visa Information Foreign visitors need only a B-2 Visa or Visa Waiver to attend the Oregon Language Center for up to 90 days. Student visas are NOT required. Students desiring to take more than 18 hours of classes per week or those planning to stay in the U.S. for more than 90 days must enroll in government-regulated SEVIS schools. The Oregon Language Center is not a SEVIS school and we cannot assist in I-20 processing. However, if you are a already in the U.S. on an F-1, J-1, or M-1 visa, you may attend the Oregon Language Center, as long as you maintain your status with your original I-20 processor. |

| Housing - Please contact us
for housing assistance. We recommend that study-vacation participants choose a homestay in downtown Albany. Homestays can be arranged through placement agencies, such as OvECS (www.azhomestay.com), and cost about $600 per month. We also have a list of apartments and hotels in the area if you prefer. Note: You must arrange housing before coming. Upon arrival at the airport, you will need to provide the U.S. Customs Office with your homestay or apartment address. |

| Travel Arrangements 1.Visitors should fly into Portland International Airport (PDX). From the airport: 2. The easiest way to get to Albany from the airport is the HUT Airport Shuttle Bus (www.portlandairportshuttle.com). The shuttle runs every 2 hours and costs $48. It takes 90 minutes from Portland to the Albany Phoenix Inn. We can assist you in making a shuttle reservation. - OR - 2. Take Portland MAX train from the airport to Union Station. From there, take an Amtrak train or bus (www.amtrak.com) to Albany Station. Ticket prices vary from $18 to $99 one way. The train trip takes about 2.5 hours; there are 4 trains to Albany per day. - OR - 2. Enterprise Car Rentals (www.enterprise.com) has an office at the Portland Airport and in downtown Albany (for drop-off). If you are age 25 or older and have an International Drivers' License, you may rent a car. - OR - 2. A taxi from the airport to Albany costs about $150. |
