Summer weather in Oregon is usually quite pleasant; it is generally warm to hot during the day and a bit cooler at night.  Occasionally, it rains.  

Our program is very casual, and casual wear is acceptable in most places in Oregon.

YOU NEED TO BRING:

  • Casual clothing for daily wear & class - jeans, shorts, and t-shirts
  • One dressy outfit if you plan to travel to Portland and go out at night
  • Comfortable walking shoes - essential!
  • A sweater or sweatshirt for cool evenings
  • One lightweight rain jacket, hat &/or umbrella in case of rain
  • A swimsuit if you plan to use the pool
  • Pajamas
  • Personal items and toiletries
  • Prescription medications with a written prescription from your doctor
  • Airplane ticket
  • Passport & visa
  • Spending money

YOU MAY WANT TO BRING:

  • A translation dictionary or translator
  • A camera
  • A laptop if you enjoy using WIFI at Internet cafes

(Note: a laptop is not necessary as OLC has a computer room with internet access for short-term use)

YOU DO NOT NEED:

  • A suit

READILY AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE IN ALBANY:

American groceries, toiletries, school supplies, international telephone calling cards, inexpensive (under $50) temporary cell phones, postcards & stamps, clothing and shoes
